Company Adds European Sales Office
SAN JOSE, CA — February 15, 2002 — OMNIVISION Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: OVTI), a market-leading independent supplier of CMOS CameraChip™ solutions for high-volume imaging applications, today announced it has opened a European sales office to better support its European customer base with localized design integration and sales resources. The new facility located in Oakham, England, is north of London and will support all of Europe. OMNIVISION has additional sales offices in the Unites States, China, Korea and Taiwan.
The newest sales office will enable OMNIVISION to better support European demand for products in the mobile phone camera (MPC), automotive and digital still markets. The increased sales channel underscores the company’s commitment to provide worldwide support for its high-volume products. OMNIVISION shipped its 15 millionth CameraChip™ product in its third fiscal quarter, ending January 31, 2002.
