March 30, 2006 — OmniVision Technologies, Inc., a world leading supplier of CMOS image sensors has successfully completed re-certification for ISO 9001-2000 standards for design, development, test and marketing of integrated circuits for image sensing and processing applications in consumer and industrial electronics. Initially certified for ISO 9001-2000 in 2003, OmniVision’s certification has now been extended through 2009.

Adopted in 1987 by the International Organization for Standardization in Geneva, Switzerland, the ISO 9001 quality system was created in order to establish an internationally recognized standard of quality. OmniVision is pleased to join the distinguished group of ISO 9001:2000 certified companies worldwide.

"OmniVision continues to build its name worldwide as a premier source for camera chips, and by achieving the higher ISO 9001:2000 certification level we have enhanced OmniVision's global reputation for quality and consistency," said Shaw Hong, president and chief executive officer of OmniVision Technologies. "OmniVision is committed to demonstrating quality by exceeding customer expectations and by continuous improvement of products and services," added Raymond Wu, OmniVision's executive vice president.

The ISO 9000 Standard was written by representatives from the United States and 14 European countries and published in 1987 by the International Organization of Standards in Geneva, Switzerland. The requirements of the Standard are aimed primarily at achieving customer satisfaction by preventing nonconformity at all stages, from production through servicing. The requirements include management, leadership, a pro-active and well-trained work force, customer feedback, measurement, documentation, internal audits and continuous improvement and third-party validation.
