Multi-Chip CameraMate USB Camera Processor
The OV560 CameraMate processor is a low cost multi-chip USB host solution for portable device applications.
Combined with an OmniVision SXGA, VGA or CIF digital CameraChip image sensor, the OV560 comprises an integrated USB host camera system with no additional USB transceiver. The OV560 has embedded audio ADC and also supports digital audio interfaces for full audio/video operation.
During operation, the OV560 camera interface synchronizes with the CameraChip Sensor's YCbCr 422 8-bit progressive video data. The embedded camera interface has a scaling function and supports any size image less than SXGA. The embedded Data Compression Engine then compresses the video data and the resultant video data is transferred to the portable device through the USB interface.
